RECENT PROJECTS
RUE includes 16 different projects. The highlight is the 98th Street extension, which will extend that roadway from where it currently ends at Bellanca Avenue to the 405 Freeway, where improvements to the southbound freeway on- and off-ramps will also be completed. RUE also includes new wayfinding signage, which will be pivotal in helping travelers navigate the new LAX landscape once the LAMP is completed.
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is undertaking a $5.5 billion Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to improve access to and egress from the airport, improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance the visitor experience. This is currently one of the largest infrastructure programs underway in the United States. Each component of LAMP incorporates best practices in sustainability, design, and construction.
The $1.9 billion design-build is the first of three projects to extend the Purple Line from Wilshire Center to Westwood. The project will add 3.92 miles to the Purple Line, beginning at the Wilshire/Western Station. The twin tunnel alignment will travel beneath Wilshire Boulevard, and underground stations will be constructed at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega.
The $750 million, 6.6-mile L.A. Metro Exposition Transit Corridor, Phase 2 (Expo II) line, which extends from the Expo Phase 1 terminus at the Venice/Robertson Station westward, will link Santa Monica by rail to Downtown LA, Pasadena, the San Fernando Valley, the South Bay, and Long Beach. RAW International is the architect for four of Expo II’s new stations: National/Palms, Exposition/Westwood, Exposition/Sepulveda, and Exposition/Bundy.
